Beeline continues to modernize its network and by the end of the year will complete the re-equipment of the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz frequency bands in 31 regions of the country, which will increase the speed of mobile Internet in these places by an average of a third, the company’s press service reported.
It was noted that after the completion of the works, the frequency range used in the 4G LTE network will be expanded.
The effect of such modernization in the company has been compared with the widening of the highway.
“Customers buy a high-speed three-lane highway instead of a two-lane road,” the Beeline press service noted, noting that services that specifically demand network quality can use “three lanes” at the same time.
As a result, pages load faster, videos and music can be played in high quality, and sound and image become clearer during video calls and video conferences.
The company said that currently, modernization works in the 2100 MHz band have been completed in Orel, Blagoveshchensk, Novosibirsk, Stavropol, Cherkessk, Tula, Magadan and other cities.
In the Kaliningrad, Tambov, Voronezh, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Bryansk, Arkhangelsk and Khabarovsk branches, the rearmament of the 2100 MHz band will be completed in the near future. Beeline noted that rearmament, the process of redistribution and reuse of radio frequencies belonging to the operator, allows you to free the frequencies and launch a new LTE cellular standard on them.
“As for the 1800 MHz band, at the moment beeline’s St. Rearmament is carried out in the St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Buryatsk, Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky branches. By the end of the year, it is planned to work in this range at the Arkhangelsk branch,” he added.
