Chinese company Ayaneo introduced Kun, the most powerful handheld console based on AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor and 2.5K widescreen. In this respect informs iXBT portal.
Responsible for the performance of the device is the Ryzen 7 7840U processor with integrated graphics from AMD. The developer will release various modifications of the console with 16, 32 or 64 GB of RAM, as well as an SSD with a capacity of 512 GB to 4 TB. The console will be able to run at TDP between 9 and 54 watts.
Ayaneo Kun received one of the largest displays in the portable console segment. This is an 8.4-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels with a brightness of up to 500 nits. No screen refresh rate specified.
It is also stated that this is the first company device to be equipped with two touchpads, as in the Steam Deck. Other features also include a face scanner with Windows Hello support, four additional petal buttons on the back panel, and the ability to insert a SIM card for 4G networks. However, the installation of this module is subject to an additional cost.
The highlight of the Ayaneo Kun is its 75Wh battery capacity, which is almost double that of its competitors. However, with greater heat dissipation and a large, high-resolution display, the difference shouldn’t matter. The novelty runs Windows 11 with the proprietary launcher Aya Space 2.
The console for pre-order for crowdfunding will be priced at $ 999 (about 95.6 thousand rubles), for the minor modification, while the maximum retail version will already cost $ 1949 (about 186.5 thousand rubles).
