The launch of the H2A launch vehicle carrying Japan’s first lunar lander, scheduled for Monday, was once again delayed due to weather conditions. It has been reported TASS With reference to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

The JAXA report explained that the transfer was associated with strong gusts of wind in the Tanegashima cosmodrome area. The launch was scheduled for 09:26 local time (3:26 Moscow time). The transfer was announced 20 minutes before the launch of the rocket. There is no information about the new launch date yet.

The Japanese device was designed to study the moon’s craters and topography, thanks to technologies similar to those used in facial recognition systems. A special camera will measure the amount of iron and other elements contained in rocks on the planet’s surface.

Japan originally wanted to send a module to the moon in May, but the deadline had to be delayed due to the failed launch of Japan’s new H3 heavy-class launch vehicle.
