Sony has announced the PlayStation Portal portable console for streaming games from the PS5. Detailed information about the device printed company blog.
PlayStation Portal is a console formerly codenamed Project Q. The console is a DualSense controller with an 8-inch Full HD touchscreen with a 60Hz refresh rate placed between the two halves.
At the same time, the design of the controller is slightly different from the original PS5 gamepad – instead there is no trackpad that uses the device’s screen, some buttons have been relocated and the bars have become smaller. It is also stated that PlayStation Portal retains the adaptive triggers and vibration found in DualSense.
Playstation Portal requires a PlayStation 5 console to be powered on and the game image to be transferred to the cloud via Wi-Fi. PlayStation Portal itself has no built-in memory or operating system – it only works with the home console and you can’t install third-party programs on it or use it without connecting to Wi-Fi.
PlayStation Portal will go on sale before the end of 2023 at a price of $ 200 (about 18.8 thousand rubles).
