Almost half (47%) of Russians want to be IT professionals. But many face obstacles on the way to their dreams, such as tough education, age or job satisfaction. says In a study conducted by Hi-Tech Mail.ru.
The IT sector attracts Russians with its high salaries (41%), stability and demand in the labor market (34%), as well as the possibility of self-actualization and increasing social status (9%). But not everyone is ready to change their profession: 33% of respondents are not interested in IT and 20% are already working in this field.
There are many ways to study for those wishing to move to IT, but only 3% of respondents choose traditional education in public institutions. 23% of respondents are ready to take online courses and 11% prefer self-education. At the same time, 22% of surveyed Russians plan to switch to IT in the coming years, 11% within a year.
Among the most popular areas in IT among Russians are data analytics (22%), cybersecurity (13%) and neural networks (12%).
