OnePlus has announced a new Rain Water Touch technology for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro smartphone that can recognize touches on the screen even in heavy rain. In this respect informs Border.
The innovation sets the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro apart from its competitors in the smartphone market, including flagships from Apple and Samsung, which have trouble recognizing touchscreen touches in the rain.
To show off its advantage, OnePlus has released a video comparison of the Ace 2 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, where both smartphones are exposed to artificial rain from different angles. The video showed that the iPhone 14 Pro was unable to respond to touch normally, while the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro continued to work smoothly. Apparently, the smartphone will also get water protection.
It is stated that a special chip and an algorithm that determines the position and force of finger pressing on the screen are used to achieve this effect. More details on the technology will be revealed at the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro presentation, which will take place on August 16. Most likely, the smartphone will go on sale in the global market later and under a different name.
