Daniel Ferrer, 37, a native of Los Angeles, spoke about the positive experience of working in an IT company in a digital nomad style with the ability to travel and work outside of the office. He spoke about the reasons for his decision to leave the United States. business insider.
“I didn’t set out to be a digital nomad. It all started with a two-week vacation in Bangkok. Then I realized that with the right time management, I could do my job from anywhere.”
According to an expert from an American IT company, he visited 11 countries in Southeast Asia and Europe in four months and now plans to visit Central and South American countries.
“During my travels, I work full-time as an account manager at an IT software development company headquartered in Los Angeles,” Ferrer said.
He explained that since the beginning of the pandemic, many employees have been working completely remotely without visiting the office, with the administration allowing them to work outside the country.
The final factor in starting a digital nomad’s life, according to Ferrer, was when a Los Angeles apartment lease expired in March.
“Since my monthly rent is 2.1 thousand dollars (about 210 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate – socialbites.ca), I chose to refuse rather than renew the contract. Now my total travel expenses range from 1.5 thousand to 2.5 thousand dollars (150 thousand to 250 thousand rubles) per month,” he said.
