YouTube video hosting users who disabled the old “View History” feature now see a blank home page on the platform. This decision of the developers is announced on: Web site companies.
The initiative has been described by Google as a “new browsing experience”. In this case, only the search bar and links to the Shorts, “Subscriptions” and “Library” sections will remain on the main page of the site.
“Starting today, browsing history-based features will be disabled, including your main feed, if you have disabled your YouTube browsing history and you have no significant previous browsing history.”
The video hosting developers stated that the innovation will be introduced gradually over the coming months. However, individual users of the service will notice the changes starting August 9.
Instead of the feed, a notification appears on the page: “Your browsing history is disabled. You can change your settings at any time to get the latest recommended videos.”
Google has come to the conclusion that this option for watching videos will be useful for users who prefer to find videos to watch on their own and do not want to get acquainted with recommendations from the algorithms of the service.
