Hacker suspected of dumping GTA VI declared insane

A London court has declared Arion Courtage, an 18-year-old hacker from the Lapsus$ group accused of hacking companies like Rockstar Games, Uber, Revolut, Nvidia and more, insane. In this respect informs Reuters agency.

Lapsus$ includes at least two people: Courtage and another 17-year-old, whose name has not been released. First of all, Lapsus$ is best known for leaking gameplay from an early build of GTA VI last fall. Both cybercriminals were detained at the end of 2023.

Courtage is charged with 12 counts, including hacking and blackmailing Rockstar, Uber and Revolut. The criminal threatened the company’s employees to merge the source code of GTA VI.

A psychiatric examination showed Courtage to be insane. Despite admitting to committing the listed cybercrimes, the court will only determine his crime and not impose a sentence.

It is known that Courtage’s 17-year-old partner was charged with seven crimes, of which only two confessed. It is not known what punishment he faces.
