Chinese company Fourier Intelligence introduced the humanoid robot GR-1, which can carry a payload close to the body weight of an android. It has been reported New Atlas.
In addition to working with cargo, Android will also be able to assist in patient care and physiotherapy in rehabilitation departments. Patients can hold onto the robot, special purple handles have been created for this.
Each GR-1, 165 cm tall and 55 kg in weight, will have a maximum walking speed of approximately 5 km/h. The “joints” of the robot move with the help of electric actuators, like Tesla’s robots.
A representative of the developer said that the company plans to produce 100 GR-1 robots by the end of 2023. Fourier Intelligence has assured that the GR-1 can carry a payload of up to 50 kg.
The company plans to send the first 100 robots to research labs where various robotics experts will work on android to add new functionality. The development of the GR-1 has been ongoing since 2019.
