Chinese technology giant Huawei Technologies plans to return to the 5G smartphone market in 2023, bypassing US sanctions. In this respect informs Citing analysts and industry sources, Reuters.

During the trade war between the US and China, in 2019 the administration of President Donald Trump banned US companies from doing business with Huawei. Due to these sanctions, Huawei lost the ability to manufacture its own Kirin processors for smartphones and was unable to purchase American Qualcomm processors with a built-in 5G modem. Almost three years later, Huawei is ready to break through this hurdle, according to Reuters.

Referring to three analyst firms specializing in the Chinese smartphone market, the reporters claim that Huawei has been able to develop its own 5G mobile modems. Their production will take place at the facilities of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), China’s largest semiconductor manufacturer. Huawei is said to have 2 million to 10 million chip circulation plans. It was not specified when they could be released.

Reuters writes that new Huawei smartphones with 5G support will be released before the end of 2023. Most likely, the first model with branded modems will be a new version of the current flagship P60. Other models with 5G are expected to be released only in 2024. Journalists believe that thanks to the launch of its own 5G modems, Huawei can once again impose competition on vendors like Apple and Samsung.

Earlier Russian operators declaration 12% increase in mobile internet speed.
