Apple CEO Phil Schiller has created a personal profile on the new Threads social network from Meta (known as an extremist and banned in Russia) Mark Zuckerberg. It has been reported 9to5Mac.

The company’s senior manager from Cupertino confirmed in correspondence to the journalist that the account philipschiller007 belongs to him.

In the past, Schiller deleted his Instagram account (the owner, Meta, was considered extremist and banned in Russia). As a result, the CEO had to create a new profile on the social network, as the Threads app requires an Instagram account to work.

Phil Schiller in November 2022 disabled Your Twitter account. He stopped using the social network shortly after Twitter owner Elon Musk unblocked former US President Donald Trump’s account.

Apple’s senior executive opened a Twitter account in November 2008. For 14 years, Schiller’s page has gained more than 200 thousand subscribers. A senior executive at an IT company often used Twitter to promote new devices and services. Schiller is responsible for public events and the development of the App Store at Apple.

Threads is positioned by Zuckerberg as an analogue of Twitter. The platform visually follows the design of Twitter, but uses icons from Instagram.
