The machine-building cluster of the Chuvash Republic will develop a project called “Horizon”, which will allow to coordinate the work of various types of road construction equipment, including unmanned vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) based on computer vision and geospatial analysis. systems.

“The Horizon project involves the use of unmanned technologies related to construction equipment, when bulldozers, excavators and dump trucks prepare a foundation pit for the foundation of a skyscraper or a trench for a multi-kilometer pipeline without human intervention,” he said. In an interview with socialbites.ca Grigory Bolotin, chairman of the board of directors of the Engineering Cluster of the Czech Republic.

According to him, “Horizon” will combine the performance of several tasks at once. For example, it will allow monitoring of changes in landscape and working conditions at a construction site using drones, computer vision and laser radars installed on working equipment. This data will help work with the job site’s digital twin when optimizing equipment routes and creating work orders. Finally, the project will allow, among other things, remote and centralized control of various types of equipment on the construction site, which will eliminate all the risks of performing traumatic work from one person at the construction site.

“In our opinion, combining the efforts of leading Russian companies can ensure the implementation of such a project in a similar timeframe, because some core technologies have already been developed in Russian companies and are not inferior to their foreign counterparts,” said Bolotin.

The Mechanical Engineering Cluster believes Gorizont will compete with the international Concept X project, which has been implemented since 2022 by a consortium of South Korean companies Hyundai and Doosan, with a commercial solution expected to be implemented by 2025. The technological development of the domestic project is planned to be completed by the end of 2023.

Previously at Kaspersky Lab developed Portable detector for detecting drones.
