Italian company Bending Spoons, the new owner of tech startup Evernote, has laid off all 98 remaining Evernote employees in the US and Chile in a second wave of layoffs. Portal reports Vehicle Finder referring to the resources and posts of former employees in social networks.
A source confirmed to the portal that Bending Spoons has fired all of Evernote’s former employees. “There is no one left who worked at Evernote before it was acquired,” he said.
Bending Spoons said that Evernote is focused on using artificial intelligence for new features in the program. Evernote is a note-taking and storage program that also works in browsers and has apps for smartphones.
In an interview with Portal, Bending Spoons said he has over 50 ideas for what AI-based features will be built into the new version of Evernote.
According to them, one useful feature would be AI Note Cleaner, which automatically structures many notes into folders based on content and other features. This feature also corrects typos and punctuation.
The second feature, AI Search, will allow users to ask Evernote questions in natural language and get quick answers based on the content of their notes.
