Twitter creator Dorsey, head of his new social network Meta (known as extremist and banned in Russia), named Mark Zuckerberg Threads, and criticized the app for completely copying Twitter’s design and functionality. It has been reported business insider.
“We wanted flying cars, instead we got seven Twitter clones,” the businessman joked. The post also included an image showing the interfaces of platforms such as Threads, Twitter, Mastodon, Bluesky and Not Boring.
Elon Musk, the current owner of Twitter, responded to Dorsey’s post with a laughing emoji. Since both have been openly critical of Threads over the past few days, it’s likely that the billionaire spoke in this way as a sign of his approval of the teasing.
Musk threatens to sue At Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg due to the launch of Threads. According to him, the company illegally exploited “Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property rights.”
dorsey already criticized Conversations to collect large amounts of user data.
Threads is positioned by Zuckerberg as an analogue of Twitter. The platform visually repeats the design of Twitter, but uses icons from another Meta social network, Instagram (which owns Meta, is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia). Users must also have an Instagram account to sign up.
