French game company Ubisoft has announced that players who gain experience using one of the bugs illegally in The Division 2 will be penalized. message about it seen On the official Twitter account of Tom Clancy’s The Division.

In the spring, The Division 2 introduced a new Descent mode. In it, players alone or in a company of three partners can endlessly mirror waves of enemies. The longer the session, the stronger the enemies in Descent and the more experience gained from them.

At the time of Descent’s release, there was a bug that allowed players to connect to other people’s groups at any stage of the mode. Some players have started exploiting the vulnerability to connect to random teams and get undeserved experience and valuables with them.

Division 2 developers later fixed the issue. They also investigated and identified all players using the bug in Descent. Ubisoft will take back illegally earned experience for each cheater, as well as ban their account for two months and mark them with a special label. The flag will allow Ubisoft to impose a harsher penalty on the player for a repeated infraction.

The Division 2 is a service game with RPG elements and third-person shooter released in 2019. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
