The American company Apple had to cut its production plans for the Vision Pro mixed reality headset by more than half due to problems in the production of new products. The newspaper writes about it Finance Times.

“The complexity of the headset’s design and manufacturing challenges have resulted in production disruptions, while plans for a more affordable version of the device have been shelved,” said multiple sources with direct knowledge of the manufacturing process.

Apple is currently set to ship less than 400,000 units of the $3,499 device in 2024, rather than the original plan of around 1 million earphones.

Two other unnamed Chinese component suppliers for the Vision Pro told the FT that Apple only wants enough parts for 130,000 to 150,000 units per year. According to journalists, this also confirms the sharp drop in production.

The newspaper also pointed to the headset’s uncertain release date – early 2024. According to analysts, this has more to do with supply chain issues than giving developers time to create apps for Vision Pro.

before in Russia sent Exclusive gold Apple headset for 3.5 million rubles.
