Twitter has introduced a new restriction for unregistered users. Now unauthorized visitors of the social network will not be able to view the posts of other users, informs Border.
Now, you need to be logged into Twitter to view a tweet. Otherwise, a window will pop up asking you to sign in or register your account and cannot be closed. Previously, such a window only appeared for age-restricted content.
Twitter representatives have yet to comment on the changes. Whether this was a deliberate act of the social network or a bug is not reported.
The Verge contradicts the statements of Elon Musk, who wants to make the social network more accessible to unregistered users, if this is a planned innovation. In 2022, he hired famous hacker George Hotz to fix a search bug that wasn’t working for unauthorized users. Soon after, the hacker left the company and the problem was resolved only in April 2023.
Journalists believe that in this way Twitter forced unregistered users to create an account on the social network and then subscribe to a paid subscription to Twitter Blue.
Formerly Volodymyr Zelensky blocked Fake Twitter account of Elon Musk due to an offensive joke.
