YouTube is testing a new feature that will prevent people from watching videos with ad blockers enabled. In this respect informs Android Police version referring to a Reddit user under the nickname Reddit_n_Me.

Reddit_n_Me posted a screenshot on the forum showing the interface of the new YouTube system. It looks like YouTube will warn users with ad blockers like AdBlock enabled. There will be three such warnings – the video player will stop playing videos for the fourth time.

As with other sites fighting services like AdBlock, YouTube will ask users to “whitelist” their addresses. YouTube will also ask the user to activate a paid subscription to YouTube Premium which will ensure they don’t disable the ad blocker.

There is no word yet on when YouTube will be able to enable the new feature for all users. Android Police believes that this may not happen as YouTube regularly tests various features that are not implemented. Before that, for example, some users were prevented from watching high-definition videos without a YouTube Premium subscription, but later this feature was discontinued.
