Russian zoomers named clips of funny moments from the let’s play video game as the most popular genre of gaming content on the web (39% of respondents watch them), while millennials turned out to be challenge fans (30%). This is indicated in the work of the Zen platform, available on socialbites.ca.
Only a quarter (22%) of zoomers (ages 18-24) prefer challenging videos. This is followed by in-game activity streams (12%), compilations of top games (10%) and broadcasts of gaming tournaments (8%).
Zoomers are less interested in text formats with let’s play the latest releases (7%) and game reviews – only 2% of respondents read them.
At the same time, millennials (ages 25 to 34) are interested in selections of the best games (29%), in addition to difficulties. More than a quarter (26%) of representatives of the generation like to watch cuts of funny moments from Let’s play, like zoomers.
Top millennials include interesting games and the latest releases — 24% of respondents watch such videos. Millennials are least likely to read articles with life hacks or watch broadcasts of gaming tournaments – 11% each – to beat games.
Only 9% of millennials surveyed watched streams of in-game events, and even fewer read reviews of the latest games – 3%.
The most watched games include Fortnite, Counter-Strike, Minecraft, FIFA 23 and Call of Duty: Warzone. Millennials most talked about Counter-Strike, Fortnite, Dota 2, World of Warcraft and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
