Part of the developers of the Belarusian company Wargaming is working on a new game about tanks in the Cold War environment, under the working title Project CW. Portal reports WOT Express.
“The first global tests were carried out in mid-June 2023. You can see enhancements from other previously canceled Wargaming titles in Project CW,” the publication says.
The project is currently in closed beta testing. The main mode is expected to be the capture of points where the two teams will take positions and thus score points from the enemy. The game was unofficially called World of Tanks 2.0.
Judging by the game’s published gameplay, Project CW will feature multiplayer battles in vehicles from the last phase of the Cold War. Tanks shown in the trailer include T-62 model 1975, Leopard 1A6 Jager, M60 IFP.
According to the portal, the developers were actively inspired by the Battlefield shooter game from the DICE studio, which is part of the American company Electronic Arts. Also, Project CW will have a tank tied to a specific character and advanced tank customization.
WOT Express has concluded that the game primarily targets the European and United States markets and is scheduled to be released on PC via the Steam service before the fall of 2024.
