Evgeny Makarov, editor-in-chief of the mobile phone portal, said that the Chinese smartphone Realme 11 Pro +, intended for the European market, is blocked in Russia. With this news he shared “Bald from MT” on the Telegram channel.
According to Makarov, not only Chinese versions of smartphones, but even global versions intended for European countries may be subject to regional blocking. This restriction disables the smartphone’s ability to use a SIM card.
“It turns out that not only smartphones for China are blocked, but also models for Europe, if you try to use them in Russia. I have a Realme 11 Pro+ for Europe and it’s locked. The instruction I wrote earlier doesn’t help. So, even OnePlus and Realme globals are not safe to buy on AliExpress, ”said the editor-in-chief of Mobilephone.
Makarov warned its subscribers that you can only buy Realme smartphones, which will have a Russian sticker on their box, without fear. For this reason, he recommends that you check this before purchasing and ask the seller for a photo of the box.
Officially imported into Russia, Realme smartphones carry the EAC mark, which indicates that the product complies with the quality and safety standards of EAEU countries, which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
“If English or Chinese [языки] – Stop buying. Because then you will have a headache – to send to the SC, wait, ”said Makarov.
The editor-in-chief of MobilePhone noted that if the seller on AliExpress or other sites promises to unlock it independently before sending the purchase, it is at your own peril and risk to rely on this method.
February 2023 reportedBBK OnePlus and Realme holding smartphones for the Chinese market began to restrict the operation of SIM cards in Russia and other countries, as the devices stopped receiving and making calls. However, the problem with Realme smartphones was soon resolved – gadgets can be unlocked on their own by contacting SC or using a regular code.
