Google announced that it will change the spelling of the Android name and the design of the operating system’s mascot. The innovations will come into effect with the release of the next version of the mobile operating system, informs 9to5google portal.
It is noted that with the release of Android 14, the spelling of the operating system’s name will begin with a capital letter, not a lowercase “a”. At the same time, the company will abandon the use of the flat Android logo in the shape of a green robot in favor of a three-dimensional logo. Before that, the last change to the OS logo happened in 2019.
While the updated logo won’t be released until the fall of 2023, Google has been hinting at this event for several months. So the robot’s bulky head shone at CES 2023, at the Google I/O 2023 conference, and even in promotional materials for the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Z Flip4.
The new Android logo should be displayed when the smartphones are turned on. Now users can see the old design accompanied by the phrase “Powered by android” (Russian – Powered by android).
