Project Q, a PlayStation 5 accessory that will let you play Sony games in portable mode, will cost $300. In this respect informs GameRant publication that references Microsoft documents provided by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigating Microsoft’s merger with Activision Blizzard.
Project Q is a device that takes the screen and buttons from the DualSense controller and is not designed to run games offline. Project Q was created to work with the PlayStation 5: a portable device will play games that run on a fixed console on its screen.
Project Q was announced as part of the PlayStation Showcase in the summer of 2023.
GameRant writes that the $300 price tag for Project Q is justified. However, PlayStation fans will likely be disappointed with the novelty, as it’s said to run for between 3 and 4 hours on a single battery charge.
“Many players believe that Sony rushed the production of Project Q. The new device is expected to compete with Valve’s Steam Deck, Asus’ ROG Ally and Logitech’s G Cloud, but it won’t be able to do so, at least for the following reasons: a limited game library,” GameRant writes.
The release of Project Q is scheduled for November 2023. More information about the new product should appear in the media in the coming months, according to GameRant.
