Russians start spending less on electric scooters

In 2023, from April to May, the average check for the purchase of an electric scooter in Russia was 13.5 thousand rubles, which is 13% less than for the same period in 2022. In this respect informs Vedomosti edition with reference to the analytical service Check Index data.

Representatives of the Czech Index and marketplaces noted that the widening of the range affects the reduction in Russian spending in this category. The choice has expanded due to more affordable models, which Russians began to prefer more often.

Despite the decline in the average bill, sales of electric scooters increased in real terms in 2023. For example, sales in units of the product discussed in Wildberry increased 2.7 times, Ozone increased 2.3 times, Sbermegamarket – 1.7 times.

According to F+ tech-Marvel, approximately 90.3 thousand electric scooters and electric unicycles were sold in the Russian Federation in the January-March 2023 period, 80% more than the result for the first five months of 2022. The most popular brands in this niche are Kugoo, Ninebot, and Hiper, accounting for 23.6%, 16.16%, and 11.2% of the market, respectively.
