Ukrainian studio GSC Game World has declared not guilty of blocking videos about STALKER series games on YouTube channels of Russian and Belarusian media. In this respect informs VGTimes version.
From June 20, Russian-language YouTube channels began to receive complaints for copyright infringement regarding videos related to games in the STALKER series. Such complaints have often resulted in clips being blocked. The author of all the allegations was a certain Roman Golubnichy with the email address [email protected]. Due to Golubnichy’s actions, at least the YouTube channels of the Russian gaming portal VGTimes and the Belarusian resource iXBT.games were damaged.
Golubnichy introduced himself as an employee of GSC Game World in correspondence with the editors of iXBT.games. However, VGTimes journalists were embarrassed that the person was conducting business correspondence from the @gmail public domain and not from the corporate one, and decided to clarify Golubnichy’s situation by contacting GSC Game World directly.
At GSC Game World, Russian journalists were told that the user with the email address [email protected] has nothing to do with the company. STALKER game developers recommended that VGTimes appeal to YouTube and use a screenshot of the GSC Game World letter as evidence in the dispute over the video unblocking.
VGTimes writes that they have already appealed against YouTube’s decision to block their videos, but at the time of publication, the moderators of the platform have not yet made a decision.
