While testing the Vision Pro headset, Apple employees detected a problem inside the headset that disturbed the use of the device. Due to the weight of the headset, an additional strap may be required, which the company will sell separately, informs Bloomberg.

The exact weight of the Vision Pro has not been disclosed. However, considering that the device is made of aluminum and glass, the headset can be very heavy and uncomfortable for daily use. To combat this, Apple has developed an additional strap that helps relieve pressure on the wearer’s face. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple currently doesn’t see this as a big enough issue to include a strap in the box.

In this case, the belt is considered an additional purchase at the request of the user. Considering that Zeis’s corrective glasses are provided for visually impaired users, the final cost of Vision Pro will be significantly higher than the declared 3.5 thousand dollars.

According to the source, Apple has increased the number of Vision Pro testers by a thousand more, but still, only the company’s top employees can take the headset home. According to the journalist, work on the hardware of the headset has already been completed, and now Apple continues to develop software.

Vision Pro is expected to launch in early 2024.
