Final Fantasy XVI, released on June 22, causes PlayStation 5 consoles to overheat and shut down. informs gamesradar version.

At least three PlayStation 5 users have already complained about the issue. For example, a user nicknamed TheSphereHunter reported that his console turned itself off while fighting with one of the bosses.

“During a boss fight, my PS5 got so overheated that it eventually shut down. If you plan to buy new PS5 games when they are released, be sure to thoroughly clean your console,” he wrote.

In contrast, user DavidFulstow noticed an overheating issue while playing the Final Fantasy XVI demo.

“Please fix the overheating issue. I cleaned my PS5 (although it wasn’t dirty), set it up properly, turned on two fans but it still happens. First, this console overheated during the demo. I hoped the first day patch would fix the problem but that didn’t happen” The player complained.

Similar “symptoms” were noted by user JustSlaythe. He believes the problem is not in the contamination of the console’s vents, but directly in the game.

According to dissatisfied users, overheating of the set-top box is accompanied by an emergency shutdown. Before that, the PlayStation 5 usually shows a notification, after which players have some time to save the progress.

Previously reported Xbox head Phil Spencer accused Sony of fierce competition.
