Tom Warren, editor of the American IT publication The Verge published On Twitter, a photo of Wagner PMC soldiers lying in the center of Rostov-on-Don, comparing their actions to the video game Call of Duty.

In the published photo, PMC soldiers lie in the middle of the street in the open air and without shelter. Warren found the position of the mercenaries to be weak, as his Call of Duty experience taught him to always be close to protection.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in Call of Duty, it’s that it’s a bad idea to lie face down in an open area. It looks like the Russians are fighting the Russians without checking the minimaps,” he wrote.

Call of Duty games have three modes of movement: standing, crouching, and prone. The latter is the most vulnerable to conflicts in open areas, because in this way the character becomes visible to other players and at the same time cannot move quickly.

Although Tom Warren works as a journalist for an American publication, he is British and lives in London.
