The Main Radio Frequency Center (GRFC), a subordinate of Roskomnadzor, has issued a tender for the development of a national system against DDoS attacks worth 1.4 billion rubles. About it on my Telegram channel reported Denis Kuskov, Managing Director of the information and analytics agency TelecomDaily, refers to the official website of the Unified Information System in the field of procurement.

It is stated that the contractor should establish a DDoS protection system and a coordination center for DDoS protection and replace the previously developed software for centralized management of technical means against threats (TSPU). The implementation of the project is scheduled for 2024.

First time about the intention to create a national system to counter DDoS attacks by GRFC announced in October 2022. The center’s decision was driven by the sharp increase in the number of cyberattacks against Russian infrastructure after the start of the NWO. At the same time, it was reported that the protection will be developed and put into use before the end of 2024.

Kuskov added that by the end of 2023, GRCHTS plans to completely cover the Russian part of the TSPU network, which is used to filter Internet traffic and will apparently become the basis of the national DDoS protection system.
