Before the full announcement was made, the new game in the Yakuza franchise, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, has surfaced with details about it on the Sony PlayStation Store online store. In this respect informs game portal Gematsu.
From the leak, it was learned that Like a Dragon Gaiden is a spin-off that will appear between the events of the sixth and seventh episodes of the main series. The main character in it will be Kazuma Kiryu, the Japanese mafia known for his Yakuza number games.
In Like a Dragon Gaiden, Kiryu will act as a double agent. Based on Kiryu’s role, the main gameplay feature in the new game will be built: players will be able to switch between yakuza and agent fighting styles at any time. In the first mode, the hero will rely on his knowledge of martial arts, and in the second – various spy devices.
It has been learned from the leak that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be released on November 9, 2023. The game will only be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. More details about the new game are expected to be announced as part of the PPC Summit 2023 event, which will be held on June 16.
