During WWDC 2023, Apple announced New features for iOS 17.
So, in iOS 17, the ability to choose a photo for contacts will be added, as it works when setting the desktop wallpaper. For example, you can add text or emoji to an image.
Also in iOS 17, the company will update the iMessage messenger, adding call filters and the ability to quickly jump to the beginning of the dialog. With the release of the update, messaging users will be able to decrypt voice messages, share geolocation, and send new animated stickers.
Also, the company will update the AirDrop feature by adding a NameDrop mode. The novelty allows you to transfer files to other iPhones when tapped, similar to connecting NFC.
At the same time, Apple announced the Standby mode, in which the smartphone “transforms” into a smart display. The smartphone can be used as a bedside clock or to display other information in landscape mode.
iOS 17 will introduce a new app called Journal, a personal electronic diary with the ability to add entries and photos.
The full release of iOS 17 is expected in the fall, along with the launch of the new iPhone 15.
