Apple is developing technology that will allow the company to hide sensors combined in the Face ID block directly under the display matrix on future iPhones. In this respect informs Chinese edition of MyDrivers with reference to the respective patent application.
The Apple app describes a technology that allows you to not only see Face ID with the eye, but also other sensors. In particular, sensors for the recognition of movements and pressing force, magnetic sensors and not only are mentioned.
An illustration is attached to the Apple patent. It schematically shows the iPhone where the Face ID block is still at the top of the screen. Current models of Apple smartphones are developed according to the same scheme.
MyDrivers writes that current technologies do not allow Apple to implement the idea without compromising the accuracy of the sensors. According to rumors, Apple plans to use the under-display Face ID block before 2026, when the iPhone 17 will be released.
