Smartphones need to be rebooted regularly to stop malware from running on iPhone. Igor Kuznetsov, head of Kaspersky Lab’s Russian research center, spoke about this at the Kaspersky CyberSecurity Weekend 2023 conference.

“In modern versions of iOS, malware cannot survive a reboot. It is therefore a good idea to restart the phone regularly to avoid infections. Speaking with a report on Triangulation spyware found on Kaspersky Lab employees’ iPhones, Kuznetsov also said you have to follow the basic rules of cyber hygiene: for example, install the latest updates immediately.

The expert also added that since iMessage is the main source of Triangulation infection, it is better to disable this service from iPhone settings. This is highly recommended, especially if the user suspects that they may be the target of a spyware attack.
