Russian company NtechLab is developing an artificial intelligence (AI)-based service to find lost pets. In this respect informs TASS.
The company has already created the first version of the cat and dog recognition system and is preparing to test it in various regions of Russia. NtechLab plans to implement it in the form of a mobile app and a website, as well as a free service based on a bot in Telegram messenger. People will upload photos of their pets to the system and look for matches in the neural network database.
“If we have a quality image and a close-up of the animal’s mouth, we observe quite high accuracy in recognizing certain breeds of animals. In the case of certain pets, including black cats, there is still work to be done in terms of accuracy – for AI they are very similar,” he said. explained NtechLab representative Alexander Thomas.
The creation of the database is planned with the support of organizations engaged in the search for lost pets. In the future, city security cameras could also be wired to search for animals, according to a NtechLab representative. However, this scenario is not currently discussed.
