Google has removed the YouTube channel of the Russian Internet news agency Ura.ru. The reason for the blocking, according to the portal itself, was the publication of a video about the referendums held in the new territory of Russia.
Editor Mikhail Titov said that 85 thousand people subscribe to the channel.
“We received the first strike on May 3 for our video last year, with the statement of the Kherson region administration on holding a referendum on accession to the Russian Federation. Second, for a video on May 12 with a story about what will change in the LPR and DPR after the referendums on accession to Russia,” Titov shared.
He noted that the channel received the third warning and automatic blocking on May 27 with the words “violation of the rules”.
The editor added that Ura.ru has already created a new YouTube channel.
May 17, Moscow Arbitration Court after appeal approved Google’s obligation to restore access to nine YouTube channels of Russian REN TV. The channel itself announced this.
