According to the draft strategy for the development of the communications industry for 2024-2035, by 2035, 98% of Russian cable Internet users should be able to access speeds of more than 1 Gbps. The newspaper read the text of the document “News”.

At the same time, it is emphasized that by 2030, almost all households in settlements with a population of over 10 thousand should have 1 Gb/s internet connection.

In June 2023, the draft strategy will be presented to the Russian Prime Minister for defense, and after working on possible interpretations, the document will be presented to the president.

It is stated that incentives can be given to the operators to cover the costs. The draft specifically refers to a doubling of the VAT rate for providers to 10% and insurance premiums to 7.6%.
