According to Canalys analysts, Samsung surpassed Apple with a 35% share of the smartphone market in Western Europe in the first quarter of 2023. At the same time, Apple’s share was 33% and Xiaomi’s share was 15%.
Analysts also state that Samsung plans to strengthen its position in the market. To do this, the South Korean company could copy Apple’s strategy by launching new mid-range and high-end smartphones that would also boost Samsung’s revenue.
The smartphone market in Western Europe continues to decline due to the unfavorable economic situation. Canalys estimates that smartphone shipments in the region fell 13% to 23.7 million units in the first quarter of 2023. The forecast for the near future is also disappointing, but experts expect a slight increase in 2024.
