In mid-May 2023, Gaijin Entertainment released an update for the popular online game War Thunder that brought a number of changes to the game’s economy. Gamers greeted the innovation ambiguously and downplayed the project on Steam as “extremely negative.” Upon this perceived DTF Portal.

These measures were aimed at balancing player progression and making the game more interesting and diverse. In response to the massive protest, the developers released another update on May 19 in which many of the controversial innovations were cancelled. They also announced that they plan to release a special economy update in the second half of summer 2023, inviting fans of the game to share their wishes in a special form on their website.
Despite this, players continued to leave negative comments on Steam. A short time later, Gaijin’s creative director Kirill Yudintsev commented on the situation, explaining to players the basic principles of War Thunder progression and why the additional paid options are popping up in the game. He also noted that the developers globally overhaul the game’s economy about once a year. Yudintsev also acknowledged that the large number of negative reviews in the store could negatively affect the development of the game and therefore asked dissatisfied players to use other communication channels.
Despite the appeal, War Thunder fans continued to leave negative reviews on Steam. Thus, the number of negative comments from May 17 to May 22 exceeded 60 thousand.
