Owner of the flagship OnePlus 8 Pro published on the Reddit forum addressing the brand after his smartphone’s battery exploded.
According to Reddit user itsmeshailesh, his smartphone exploded while in standby – meaning it wasn’t used or charged. At the same time, the owner was sleeping a foot (about 30 cm) away from the device at the time of the explosion. A pillow inherited heatstroke, as the owner of the gadget miraculously did not suffer.
When he realized that the problem was with the battery, he contacted technical support. But there it was said that the cause of the explosion was the pressure on the motherboard, which the user did not accept. In this regard, he wrote an appeal to the forum, urging OnePlus to conduct a thorough investigation not to name unfounded versions.
“I was sleeping 1 meter away from the phone when it happened, so it was a serious threat to my life. I hope someone from the OnePlus team can help me find a solution,” itsmeshailesh concluded.
He also added a photo of a mattress deeply burned by a smartphone to his forum thread. The victim also stated that despite the problem, the company bought the current flagship OnePlus 11 on the same day.
