Microsoft’s acquisition of game developer Activision Blizzard for $69 billion has been approved by China’s antitrust regulator. It has been reported Searching for Aplha.

According to the sources, the PRC Market Regulatory Authority gave unconditional approval to the transaction at the end of the review. Official representatives of China have not yet confirmed this decision.

China’s approval came after the European Union approved the terms great deal, but on two conditions. Microsoft needs to meet two 10-year commitments: to allow all consumers in the EU to play Activision Blizzard games on any platform and to license Activision Blizzard game services.

While China and Europe are key to the eventual completion of the takeover, the UK antitrust regulator’s April decision veto a deal seen by analysts as a stumbling block that could lead to its end in the long run.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has also filed suit to block the deal, with legal proceedings starting in August 2023.
