As part of its annual YouTube Brandcast event, the company announced that it is launching a new ad format for smart TVs in the form of 30-second non-skippable videos. In this respect informs Border.
It is stated that the new non-skippable ads will be shown instead of two 15-second clips in a row. The innovation will work on smart TVs with the YouTube app. Users who don’t want to watch ads can use a paid YouTube Premium subscription.
Also, YouTube plans to show banner ads during the pause. Such ads will be removed by clicking the “reject” button. The launch date of both innovations has not yet been announced.
