Google announced that it is deleting accounts that have not been used for more than two years. Portal reports 9to5Google.
It is stated that when deleting an account, the user will also lose access to all Google services such as Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar and others. The liquidation process will begin in December 2023, with accounts created and then never used. All users whose accounts are at risk will receive special notifications.
Currently, Google has no plans to remove accounts linked to YouTube profiles of posted videos because YouTube profiles may have historical value.
The liquidation will only affect private accounts and not profiles owned by businesses or other organizations. If a person uses their account to search Google Play, watch videos or download apps, all these actions are considered active, which means that the profile is not compromised.
