Actress Elle Fanning said fans should expect many emotional scenes featuring her character in Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima’s DS2 (Death Stranding 2). She talked about this in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast. YouTube.
“I didn’t realize it was actually the same acting. There are very emotional scenes there. I shoot one of them and Hideo asks my character to cry. And for that, I have to put myself in a certain situation, but still there is an ordinary studio around,” the actor said.
American Fanning, 25, added that he is new to the games industry, so he expects the classic format of voicing characters in a sound booth, as if they were a cartoon or an audiobook. In reality, however, the artist had to personally participate in the recording of Death Stranding 2 scenes.
The actor said that he has already seen the version of his character in the game. “I’m very kind but you have to understand that it’s a character and yes, it looks great,” she said.
At the same time, Fanning realized that her acquaintances were extremely positive about her decision to join the game. “A surprisingly high increase in interest from viewers on social networks. I did not expect that. For friends who play games, this is my main job in my career,” said the artist.
Fanning also admitted that Kojima “gave him a PS3,” though the actress probably meant the PlayStation 5 game console with which they were planning to release the game.
