The iPhone 16 Pro smartphone, which is expected to be introduced in the fall of 2024, will get an enlarged screen and periscope lens. This was stated by TF International Securities analyst and authorized insider Ming-Chi Kuo, reports 9to5Mac.
“The regular iPhone 16 Pro will get the periscope lens that will appear on the iPhone 15 Pro Max this year for the best optical zoom in 2024,” he said.
It should be noted that the periscope lens is based on a prism that reflects light onto several internal lenses at a 90 degree angle to the camera sensor. This allows the lens to be longer than a telephoto lens, resulting in a much better optical zoom.
The expert is not ready to say definitively whether the new Apple lens will match the 10x zoom of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra or whether the company will opt for the 6x lens.
Kuo also stated that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a slightly larger screen. “This will allow the company to install periscope lenses on both models, not just the Pro Max,” the analyst said.
Former insider and founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young declarationThat the base models of iPhone 16 smartphones will not receive enlarged screens, but the Pro version expects to upgrade to wide diagonals.
