ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot, was unable to accurately identify Japan’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Kono Taro – the system mistook him for the country’s prime minister. Agency reports Bloomberg.
“I asked ChatGPT who Kono Taro is, and he gave the wrong answer. So you have to be careful with artificial intelligence,” the official said.
When asked how ChatGPT identified him when he entered a query about him, Kono said he was referred to as the “Prime Minister of Japan”. At the same time, the minister himself has a positive attitude towards new technologies, despite the shortcomings in his work.
“Robots do not pose a threat to the workforce in Japan. We are more eager to try new artificial intelligence technologies,” he said, referring to the decline in birth rates in the country.
The Japanese government is discussing the creation of an AI dataset with Microsoft and other vendors, he said. “The dataset for Japanese and other languages is small compared to English, so it may be skewed,” the minister said.
