“Kommersant”: sales of quadrocopters in Russian online stores increased by 20 times

In the first three months of 2023, sales of quadrocopters in online stores in Russia increased by 15-20 times compared to the same period last year. It was reported by the newspaper “Kommersantwith reference to market statistics.

In the first quarter of this year, the number of drones sold in Wildberry was 26.7 thousand, and in Ozone 17.6 thousand. In monetary terms, sales increased tenfold: in Wildberry – up to 88 million rubles, and in Ozone – 57 million rubles. At the same time, the average control for a quadrocopter was about 4 thousand rubles. Most often, the Russians bought drones for amateur photography, as well as children’s models.

At the same time, as the experts interviewed by Kommersant noted, the ban on launching quadrocopters in some regions of Russia does not affect the demand for these devices – people still continue to launch them. The increase in interest in quadcopters is associated with their popularization and constant discussion on the backdrop of a special military operation in Ukraine.
