Analytical company Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) published A study showing how often iPhone owners replace their smartphones.
So in 2023, 31% of iPhone owners plan to keep their current device for three years or more. Between two and three years, 30% of respondents want to use a smartphone, while 28% are for one or two years. At the same time, 10% of respondents plan to stay on the current device for less than a year.
According to last year’s CIRP study, in 2022 only 20% of iPhone owners plan to use their smartphones for three years or more, while in 2021 – 34%, in 2020 – 29% and in 2019 – 26%.
According to CIRP analysts, the trend to buy new devices was previously driven by the COVID-19 pandemic – during the pandemic, people were interested in buying the most advanced devices as they were forced to work remotely. Allegedly, government financial support and lucrative offers through swap programs allowed users to buy new smartphones.
