A new feature has been discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp messenger for iOS that allows you to see a list of channels subscribed to in the user’s account. Portal reports WABetaInfo.
As you can see in the screenshot, the list of channels will be displayed in the “Status” section, the name of which will later be changed to “Updates” – it will contain both the current status of the user and his subscription. Statuses will be broadcast in a horizontal order to free up more screen space for channels.
It is worth noting that the channel function is not yet available to the general user – it is under development. It is assumed that the channels in WhatsApp will be arranged according to the principle of Telegram channels – users will be able to choose which channel to subscribe to and see only the content that interests them in the feed. The public release date of the channel functionality and the list of channels in the user account are yet to be announced.
