The press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) reported DEA NewsThat Russian scientists created the Begalet-Mirage drone.
In addition to vertical take-off and landing, the new unmanned aerial vehicle can spend up to 12 hours at an altitude of eight thousand meters. The drone was developed by Aerospace Development BEGAK LLC.
“We have created a working demo of the device with a take-off weight of 75 kilograms and a flight altitude of 6-8 thousand meters, 20 of which are possible payloads,” the company said.
The drone, which can fly for about 2 hours in standard form and cover a distance of 350 km, will be equipped with an electric motor and a gasoline internal combustion engine in the hybrid version, and the flight time will be 10-12 hours in this version.
Alexander Begak, LLC’s general manager and Begatelet-Mirage’s general designer, said the drone could be used as a repeater in emergencies, as well as to monitor forest fires or a gas pipeline and other national economic tasks. He noted that usually the flight altitude of unmanned aerial vehicles of the same size does not exceed 4 thousand meters, and the flight speed of analogues is less.
“The device has a non-classical aerodynamic scheme developed by us, it can take off from any unprepared platform, even from the deck of a ship, I think. However, it is not a tiltrotor. “We haven’t explained the features in more detail yet,” he said.
The drone test is not yet complete, but has already made several sorties.
Previously reportedthat new Russian kamikaze drones will be sent to the front from a single center. It is reported that drone operators can connect to their controls on the front line and aim at enemy targets.
